A Love Letter to God

My Thoughts: Love Letter
Lord,
I need more than just a set of rules to help me find freedom and love. These rules of Religion are empty and prejudice. How can Religious people stand flat footed and tell me that I cannot be gay and have a relationship with you and then throw every misinterpreted passage at me to guilt me into a lifestyle change that is unnatural to me. I say to them oh Lord, if they want me to follow the Good Book of laws and rules, then why did Christ die on the cross to set me free of rules. Was that only for one race, one orientation, one type of believer or was it for all mankind Lord? Your book says that Christ fulfilled the law at the cross and if I choose to live by the 'letter of the law' then I am not accepting the work of Jesus Christ and I will be held accountable for every rule. So why are Religious people speaking out of both sides of their mouth? Either the cross was sufficient for Whosoever Shall Come and the law cannot condemn me or I can abide by every rule and spit at the work completed at the cross. I don't like the business salvation has turned into...Religion. Lord, I am loosing my Religion because it isn't the atonement given to mankind by the completed work of Jesus. I want you oh Lord, I want to find a relationship with you, that is all I need, I am loosing my Religion. No one can love me like you do.
Love Always,
Bridget
